Every good and perfect gift is from above. James 1:17.
Our baby girl is on her way and we couldn’t feel more excited! We are beyond blessed with a daughter to love. So in love with our baby since the first time we heard her heartbeat.
We found out the gender of our baby when I was 19 weeks and 6 days for our anatomy scan. It didn’t matter to me if it was a boy or girl, I just wanted and prayed for a healthy baby. Since the beginning of my pregnancy, I thought that I was going to have a boy so naturally I started started researching everything about boys. It was such a happy surprise when the tech revealed that it was a girl. My husband and I just looked at each other and were in disbelief. First, that we actually knew the gender so quickly and second, that it was a girl! We were both convinced it was a boy.
Having a girl brings a different dynamic. Once I knew the gender, I started planning and preparing for her arrival. I got so excited looking through all the cute baby girl clothing, bows, and shoes. I am just over the moon that I will have a beautiful little girl to love. My husband said that she is his biggest pride. That made me love him even more!
To reveal the gender, we took photos with a photographer based in Oceanside, CA. We took photos inside Camp Pendleton and I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out. I had several props I wanted to incorporate including ballons, a teddy bear, baby shoes, the sonogram photos, and a custom onesies with our name reveal. We decided to name our sweet baby girl, Isabelle [pledge to God] Penelope [faithful woman].
For years, my husband and I had talked about baby names. I always loved the name Isabelle and fell more in love with it once I knew the meaning of the name. My husband loved the name Penelope so it was was a great combination. I loved the sound of it.
I can’t wait to hold my baby girl in January!
