We announced our gender reveal in mid-December along with our daughter’s 3rd birthday party. We knew all of our family would be present, so it was the ideal time for everyone to find out.
With this second pregnancy, we wanted to do something different. I had been watching gender reveal videos and thought that it was a great way for not only our family but for us to find out the gender of our baby. The first time, we found out when we have our 20 week ultrasound appointment. The technician told us and while we were happy to find out, it lacked the excitement as new parents finding out the gender.
Gender reveal parties have become a trend now and Pinterest has so many ideas from cutting a cake, balloons, confetti, to smoke bombs! This second pregnancy was a beautiful blessing and surprise for us after our miscarriage that I wanted it to be special. We decided to pop a gold balloon with confetti to reveal the gender. We had our family guess the gender and surprisingly, the majority thought it was a boy while only two people thought it was a girl. When the balloon popped, my husband and I were so surprised that it was a girl. Based on what everyone was telling us and how I am carrying, we were sure it was a boy. It took me a few minutes to process the news but was delighted at the idea of another little girl. My daughter will be getting her little best friend for life.
We are just over the moon in love with our daughters and can’t wait for her to be born!
